The craft side of Tongba brewing. The Artisan Set pairs a Tongba DIY Kit with a handcrafted ceramic Tongba vessel: brew with the kit, then serve the traditional way from a vessel shaped by hand. It is the gift ready version of the full ritual.

What's in the box

• 1 Tongba DIY Kit in your choice of starter: 2 lbs red finger millet (uncooked), yeast starter 1.6 oz (45 g), 1 traditional aluminum straw (Pipsing), 1 reusable organic cotton bag (14 x 12 in), and step by step guidance
• 1 handcrafted ceramic Tongba vessel in your choice of edition: Charlie, Lucy, or Appa, with its own Pipsing

Handmade, one of a kind

Each ceramic vessel is hand shaped, giving every piece its own character and finish. No two are exactly alike, and that is the point.

How it works

Cook the millet, mix in the starter, and let it ferment. Pack the fermented millet into the ceramic vessel, pour hot water over it, wait a few minutes, and sip through the Pipsing. Top up with hot water and repeat, 3 to 5 rounds from a single batch.
